Portage Jr. Miss Softball – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What age can you register?

Girls ages 4 and up can participate. Players must be 4 years old by August 31, 2025.

2. What divisions are offered?

• Little Tykes (4–6) – Coed
• Juniors (7–8)
• Minors (9–10)
• Majors (11–13)
• High School (14–17)
• Seniors (17 and up)

3. When does online registration open?

Online registration opens November 15th at portagejrmiss.com.

4. Is there an early bird discount?

Yes! Discounted pricing runs from November 15, 2024 – January 17, 2026.
Prices increase starting January 18th, 2026.

5. How do I register?

6. When does the season start?

Practices typically begin in April. Games start in May.

7. What equipment does my child need?

Players should have a softball glove, helmet with face mask and black softball pants. We rent o bats, helmets, and catcher’s gear and do not charge unless not returned.  Team shirts/jerseys are provided.

8. Are volunteers needed?

Yes! We are a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers. Coaches, board members, and concession help are always welcome. If interested in managing or coaching, please log into website and fill out volunteer tab.

9. Can boys play?

Yes! Boys may play in the Little Tykes (4–6) coed division.
